Fixed a malfunctioning water heater today in Hampstead! Customer had no hot water since yesterday. 50-gal Bradford White gas unit, about 6 yrs old. Diagnostic testing showed failing thermocouple preventing pilot light from staying lit. Replaced thermocouple with OEM part and thoroughly cleaned burner assembly which had significant dust buildup. Also flushed tank to remove sediment - was badly needed! Adjusted temperature setting to 120°F for better efficiency and safety. Everything working perfectly now with strong consistent flame pattern. Showed customer how to safely relight pilot if needed in future. Also recommended annual maintenance to extend heater life. Nice folks - even got offered some amazing homemade cookies!
